NeuroTech-NL researchers have proven that shape perception can be created by brain stimulation
A 1024-channel prosthesis was implanted in the visual cortex of monkeys and electrical stimulation was used to produce percepts of light (called phosphenes), which the monkeys immediately recognized as shapes, motion, or letters.
